Consultant – Myofunctional Dentist
Clinical Expertise & Experience
Dr Ramya is a Myofunctional Dentist with a focused approach toward craniofacial development, airway function, and oral muscle rehabilitation. Her work emphasizes how breathing, tongue posture, and muscle patterns influence facial growth, sleep quality, and overall development.
With postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and ongoing advanced learning in myofunctional therapy, she integrates structural understanding with functional correction—especially in growing children.
Training & Clinical Approach
Her clinical approach focuses on early identification of dysfunctional oral habits such as mouth breathing, improper swallowing, and poor tongue posture. By addressing these patterns early, she helps guide normal craniofacial development and prevent long-term complications.
Key Areas of Expertise
  • Myofunctional therapy for breathing and muscle re-education
  • Assessment of tongue posture and swallowing patterns
  • Craniofacial growth and developmental guidance
  • Early intervention in children with airway dysfunction
  • Supportive care for sleep-related breathing issues
  • Integration of posture, breathing, and oral function
Focused on early functional correction, her approach supports better breathing, improved sleep, and healthy craniofacial development in children and adults.
Dr Ramya’s Story
From Dentistry to Women-Centered, Airway-Focused Myofunctional Care
Dr V. Venkata Ramya’s journey began with a deep interest in how oral health connects with the rest of the body. With postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from CODS, Davangere, she developed a strong clinical understanding of disease and diagnosis beyond conventional dentistry.
Over time, she began noticing recurring patterns—sleep disturbances, TMJ issues, airway dysfunction, and developmental concerns that traditional approaches often did not fully address.
The Shift Toward Root Cause Care
These observations led her to explore deeper connections—tethered oral tissues, myofunctional dysfunction, and their impact on breathing, posture, and long-term health.
This transformation guided her into Myofunctional Therapy, focusing on restoring natural breathing, swallowing, and neuromuscular balance.
A Personal Journey into Women’s Health
Her work took a more personal turn through her own experiences with hormonal and lifestyle-related challenges. This expanded her understanding of women’s health as an interconnected system—not isolated conditions.
Today, she integrates airway science, functional care, and lifestyle medicine to support women through phases like PCOS, metabolic health, pregnancy preparation, and postpartum recovery.
A Holistic Vision
Currently pursuing an MBA in Hospital Management, she brings together clinical expertise and system-level thinking to deliver structured, patient-centered care.
“A woman’s health shapes not just her life, but the next generation. When we address the root cause, we don’t just treat—we transform.”
