Clinical Expertise & Experience
Dr Ratheesh is a leading consultant in Maxillofacial Medicine with a focused approach toward airway health, craniofacial development, and functional rehabilitation. His work integrates structural diagnosis with functional correction—addressing breathing, sleep, and facial development as interconnected systems.
With a strong academic foundation from Bapuji Dental College & Hospital and advanced training in Craniofacial and Airway-centered care, he brings a comprehensive and preventive approach to both pediatric and adult patients.
Training & Clinical Approach
His clinical philosophy is rooted in understanding how airway, tongue function, jaw development, and posture influence long-term health. He has undergone continuous advanced training in craniofacial orthopedics, myofunctional therapy, and functional frenuloplasty techniques.
Key Areas of Expertise
  • Airway-focused diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Functional frenuloplasty (tongue-tie release at fascial level)
  • Craniofacial growth and development guidance
  • Myofunctional therapy and oral muscle rehabilitation
  • Neuromuscular TMJ and occlusion management
  • Sleep-disordered breathing and non-CPAP solutions
Focused on early diagnosis and root-cause treatment, his approach aims to improve breathing, sleep quality, facial development, and long-term overall health.
The Vision Behind BreatheAlive
Dr Ratheesh A V, MDS (OMR) • Founder & Director
Dr Ratheesh serves as a consultant specializing in the intersection of craniofacial development, airway health, and sleep medicine. With a strong foundation in Maxillofacial Medicine and Radiology, his approach goes beyond conventional care to focus on identifying the root causes of dysfunction.
Through years of clinical experience, he observed a recurring pattern — patients with breathing issues, poor sleep, and facial underdevelopment were often treated in isolation, rather than as part of a connected system.
The Deeper Realization
Airway, jaw development, tongue function, and posture are deeply interconnected. Conditions like tongue-tie, narrow jaws, and myofunctional dysfunction are not isolated problems — they influence long-term health outcomes.
This understanding shifted his focus from treating symptoms to addressing root causes — recognizing how early structural changes shape breathing, sleep, and overall health.
Building a New Model of Care
Driven by this vision, BreatheAlive was founded to integrate airway medicine, craniofacial science, ENT care, and myofunctional therapy into a unified approach.
The focus is on early diagnosis, interdisciplinary care, and long-term outcomes — helping patients move beyond temporary relief toward lasting transformation.
“When we understand how structure shapes function, we can change not just symptoms — but the entire trajectory of health.”
Core Areas of Expertise
Functional Frenuloplasty
Precision tongue-tie release at fascial level to restore optimal function.
Myofunctional Therapy
Re-educating muscles for proper breathing, swallowing, and craniofacial balance.
Facial Growth Guidance
Supporting jaw and facial development through non-invasive functional care.
Neuromuscular TMJ Correction
Treating TMJ through muscle, joint, posture and occlusion harmony.
Sleep & Airway
Addressing snoring, apnea and airway obstruction for restorative sleep.
Neurocognitive Development
Restoring deep sleep for better brain functioning
Real Outcomes That Matter
By focusing on airway, function, and long-term development, treatment goes beyond symptom relief — creating meaningful, lasting improvements in breathing, sleep, and overall health for both children and adults.
